BURUNGI BWANSI PROGRAM EMBRACED BY KIBAALE MPS
Kibaale district roads committee has announced that they are yet to start implementing on their planned work plan of rehabilitating and maintaining roads across the district for the financial year 2023/2024.
This was revealed by the members of the roads committee chaired by Noeline Kisembo Basemera the Woman Member of Parliament Kibaale district. MP Basemera says the work plan is still maintained although no any planned road has been worked on due to bad weather conditions as well as waiting for new guidelines from the ministry of works. She notes that following a presidential directive of allocating each district Shs1 billion for maintenance of roads so far Kibaale district has received 250 million shillings but they are still waiting for the new guidelines.
MP Basemera however revealed that Karuteete- Ruboona- Kyakazihire road which is currently in sole state was contracted by the ministry of agriculture under Agriculture Cluster Development Program (ACDP) but currently the ministry has no funds to work upon it. She says that the committee has agreed to meet the Minister of finance, Matia Kasaija to find the means of getting funds so that can be allocated to the ministry of agriculture and work on it.
In his remarks, Dr Emely Kugonza the Buyanja East Member of Parliament says the committee has advised the technical team that is going to conduct a visibility study on Buseesa piped water to have mediate, medium and long time so as they can cover enough villages. Dr Emely also commended the Wanahichi for engaging in community services dubbed as Burungi- Bwansi.
